Free support with peat-free growing
Thanks to generous funding from the Network for Social Change and The Big Give, we’re pleased to be able to offer free online training to help people grow successfully without peat.
We know that many growers are keen to eliminate peat from their gardens, allotments, and balconies, but have struggled to make the switch. Peat-free composts have a variety of different ingredients including wood fibres and coir. These ingredients behave differently to peat, which means growers may need to slightly alter the way they feed and water their plants.
To help growers understand the differences between peat-based and peat-free compost, and make the switch successfully, we’re offering online training compiled by our experts.
Join our one-hour online webinar at 6pm on Wednesday 24th November to hear Dr. Anton Rosenfeld cover everything you need to know about peat-free growing, including:
- The impact of peat extraction on the environment
- The results of our recent research into people’s use of peat and alternatives
- How peat-free composts are made
- How to get the most out of peat-free composts
- How to make your own peat-free potting mixes
There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and raise any specific challenges you’ve experienced.
Alternatively, if you can’t make this date then we also offer online self-guided learning for free. Simply follow our step-by-step course covering all of the above information through videos, information, and short quizzes. If you’re pushed for time you can stop the training at any point and pick up where you left off.
